Ambassador Clay Constantinou, dean of the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations, will leave the university June 30, after six years, to resume practicing law.
Constantinou said he knows the program will continue to flourish.
“I am extremely proud of what this wonderfully dedicated team of faculty and staff has been able to achieve in six short years,” he said. “I am most proud of our students who are dedicated, ambitious and committed to serving for society’s greater good.”
Msgr. Robert Sheeran, university president, said: “The Whitehead School is one of our most distinguished programs, as well as one of the most remarkable schools of its type in the world. Dean Constantinou and his great team are to be commended for this outstanding achievement.”
Provost Thomas Lindsay added, “Through the single-minded devotion and dogged determination, Clay, with his stellar faculty and staff, has made the Whitehead School a program that is recognized internationally for graduating exceptional leaders.
In May 1999, Constantinou was appointed the first dean of the School of Diplomacy.
