The National Coalition Building Institute @ Seton Hall University (NCBI@SHU) recently welcomed 12 trained Workshop leaders to its program. NCBI@SHU is committed to a caring, unified and diverse community. The following eight individuals are University staff and administrators who completed the February training program: Floretta Bell, public safety officer; Andrew Brereton, M.A. ’98, assistant director for career mentoring in The Career Center; Elizabeth Cappelluti, M.A., assistant director of experiential education in The Career Center; Kevin Lockwood, M.A., assistant dean for Community Development; Simone Mack-Bright, M.A., student development specialist/graduate access coordinator in the Educational Opportunity Program; Enmanuel Mercedes ’02, student development specialist in the Educational Opportunity Program; Jennifer Rodgers, M.S.Ed., assistant director of experiential education in The Career Center; and Laila Uddin ’99 residence hall director in the Department of Housing and Residence Life.

Reverend Joseph Reilly ’87, S.T.L., Ph.D., rector of the College Seminary – St. Andrew’s Hall, was appointed to director of Seton Hall’s International Institute for Clergy Formation. Founded in 1987, the institute has grown to become one of the largest programs of clergy formation with more than 10,000 priest alumni from around the world.

The Seton Hall Woman’s Guild, a group dedicated to furthering medical and dental education by granting merit scholarships, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 17. A Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, immediately followed by a reception in the Chancellor’s Suite, Bishop Dougherty University Center.

The Stillman School of Business, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the government of the Kyrgyz Republic (KR), the Public Association “Investment Roundtable” and the U.N. Development Programme, held a training workshop titled “Foreign Direct Investment for Development Financing.” The workshop took place February 28-March 2, in Bishkek, KR, and convened mid-career and high-level officials from private businesses and government organizations, including state and city administrations and councils on foreign investment. Yeomin Yoon, Ph.D., professor of finance and international business, coordinated a team of resource persons that included Jason Yin, Ph.D., professor of management; and Héctor R. Lozada, Ph.D., associate professor of marketing and director of the Institute for International Business; among other experts in economics, finance, investment, marketing and international economic cooperation.

WSOU 89.5 FM, Seton Hall’s radio station, raised $5,526.79 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a national organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The WSOU (Not So) Silent Night Benefit Concert took place in December 2004 at the Rexplex in Elizabeth and featured performances by Andrew W.K., From Autumn to Ashes and several other bands.
